As part of the 6G Platform initiative, SUSTAINET presented its umbrella structure, consisting of three sub-projects: SUSTAINET-Advance, SUSTAINET-inNOvAte, and SUSTAINET-Guardian. Each project shared its unique contribution to creating energy-efficient, secure, and adaptive communication infrastructures for a rapidly evolving digital society.
Highlights included presentations by:
Dr. Jörg-Peter Elbers (Adtran), emphasizing the interdependence of energy and communication infrastructures in SUSTAINET-Advance.
Dr. Rene Bonk (Nokia), introducing the SUSTAINET-inNOvAte approach to frictionless and high-performance networking through intelligent sensing and heterogenous network integration.
Dr. Christoph Lipps (DFKI), presenting SUSTAINET-Guardian’s cyber-resilient concepts with use cases such as Charité Berlin.
The session concluded with a high-level panel discussion on Europe’s role in leading the transition toward sustainable and trustworthy 6G systems—underscoring SUSTAINET’s pivotal role in driving this transformation forward.
